The Parental Readiness and Empowerment Program (PREP) of the Lawyers’ Committee for Civil Rights Under Law will launch its innovative e-clinic on September 6th for parents in California.

Parents with questions about their child(ren)’s education related to:
- Special Education
- School Discipline
- English Language Learners
WHAT: Free virtual, online appointments between parents and pro bono advocates
- Appointments can be conducted in English and Spanish
WHEN: Intake begins Tuesday, September 6, 2016 and will continue throughout the school year

Building upon the success of PREP’s digital platform (www.prepparents.org), the e-clinic will allow parents to meet virtually free of charge via video chat with a pro bono advocate to discuss educational issues related to special education, school discipline, English Language Learners, or discrimination issues.
Volunteers and parents will work together in an online setting to formulate an action plan that will support addressing their child(ren)’s educational success. “PREP is excited to leverage technology and human capital at law firms and corporations to support parents in advocating for their children,” said Lawyers’ Committee PREP Manager and Senior Counsel Natasha Quiroga. “The e-clinic will overcome geographical challenges and scheduling constraints to make an even larger impact on the lives of parents and children.”
